STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — For the price of about 500 large cheese pies, you could learn to make an absolutely perfect one.

That’s the promise of the $7,500 master class being offered at Pizza School of New York, headquartered at Staten Island’s world-renowned Goodfella’s Pizza, and announced today by its founder, Scot Cosentino.

“It will be a completely hands-on experience turning pizza makers from all over the world into gourmet artisans who will master the art of wood-fired pizza,” Cosentino says .

But still …$7,500 is a lot of clams for pizza.

Cosentino says it’s worth it. The 10-day master class promises the ultimate culinary education that covers everything from gourmet sauce preparation and wood-fired oven operation to “custom pizza menu development,” calzones and even dessert pizza.

The master class is offered at Goodfella’s Dongan Hills shop on Hylan Boulevard. It’s an intensive, individualized experience that promises to teach students the ability to produce “perfect pizzas upon graduation.”

Chef jackets, hats and two meals daily are included in the tuition, and a master certificate is awarded at graduation.

“We currently have students from all over the world and are helping many people make their dreams come true,” says Cosentino.

Shorter and more modestly priced introductory and intermediate classes are available as well.
